Rose Neitzey

October 4, 1920 — May 27, 2016

On Friday, May 27, 2016 at age 95. Formerly of Hyattsville and College Park, MD. Rose served as Director of Volunteers for the American Red Cross (Prince George's County) for 26 years, Chairperson of the County's Volunteer Action Center, and was the inaugural Chairperson for the County's Commission for Women. She was preceded in death by her husband John, her son Michael, and grandsons Nicholas and Joseph. Devoted mother of sons Matthew (Barbara), Mark (Denise), Mitchell (Karen), Martin (Beatrice), Malcolm and daughter-in-law Jeanne Rosenberger (John). She is survived by her brother, James Wersick, eight grandchildren, one great grandson and many loving nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD on Thursday, June 2 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Hyattsville on Friday June 3 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, MD. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at www.redcross.org
