Sarah Johnson

On Wednesday evening February 18th peacefully went to sleep. She was born Sarah Tucker in North Carolina on October 21, 1926 and moved to the Washington, DC area in the early 1950's. While here, she held a number of positions including a long stint as an insurance agent for Metropolitan Life serving in Prince George's County. While in the county she was active in the North Forestville Citizens Association and was a founding member and founding president of the Southern Prince George's County Business and Professional Woman's Association. Her last position was on the staff of the Honorable Harry Reid at the U.S. Senate where she worked in the late 1980's and early 1990's. She retired from the Senate in 1992. She is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey Studds of Hyattsville and Daniel Studds of Fredericksburg, VA. She is also survived by three sisters and two grandsons. She will be missed. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 25 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm at GASCH'S FUNERAL HOME, P.A. 4739 Baltimore Ave. Hyattsville, MD. Services will be held on Thursday, February 26 at 11 am at Riverdale Presbyterian Church, 6513 Queens Chapel Road, Hyattsville, MD. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery, Brentwood, MD.
