Sharon Hamby

Sharon Lee Hamby went to her eternal rest on July 16, 2021.  Beloved daughter of Delbert “Sam” and Frances “Tanky” Townsend and sister to Cece Dunderman.  Beloved mother of Debbie Davis (Dale), Frank Casscells-Hamby (Missy) and Michael Hamby (Kendal).  Loving grandmother of 8 and great grandmother of 4.  Sharon’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Sharon decided after her children were grown that she would pursue her lifelong goal of becoming a healthcare professional, eventually becoming a highly respected critical care nurse.  Upon retirement she moved to Farmville, Virginia to be with her daughter and her growing family.  She loved assisting with the animals and helping on the small farm.  She will be dearly missed by all. There will be a graveside service on 28 July 2021 at Resurrection Cemetery in Hyattsville, Maryland.  In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to your local Dementia or Cancer organization.
