Born 12/1947 -- died 12/19/23. Sue graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland in 1966 and later obtained a law degree from the University of MD. She was an industry leader for women in the construction industry. She served as the Publicity Chairperson for the Greater Washington DC Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction and attained the titles of Comptroller and IBM Systems 32 Data Processing Manager in the 1970’s while at Standard Electric Company. In those capacities, she worked on widely ranging projects from the DC Metro Subway Farecard Collection System to residential condo/apartments at Greenbriar/Glen Oaks, Greenbelt, MD. Sue had a consulting business for seniors as well as a private catering service. She is remembered for her flair for decorating and entertaining, her unique sense of humor, and her eye for order and efficiency. She loved shopping at thrift stores, collecting turtle artwork and clocks, conducting yard sales, yoga and taking walks with her best friend, Tiger, a Shih-Poo. Sue grew up all over the world - including Italy, Japan, and several states - living wherever her father, Brady Vradenburg, a captain in the Army, was stationed. Among those, her favorite home was Williamsburg, VA, where her mother, Nancy Vradenburg, was a character-docent in the village. She lived in College Park and Greenbelt, MD for over 20 years and would host “porch socials” for her neighbors. Her last months were spent in Venice, California with her family. Sue is survived by her niece, Rebecca Chou (daughter of Sue's sister, Kathryn Hoover), and her two great nieces, Juniper and Ivy Chou. Donations can be made to the COPD Foundation in her memory, www.copdfoundation.org.
