Thelma Salanda Righter born February 25, 1914 in Baltimore, MD died May 1, 2013 in Sterling, VA with family at her bedside. Daughter of Joseph and Charlotte Salanda, sister of Karl B. Salanda, Predeceased widow of Burdett W. Righter (died Aug, 1957). Predeceased by son Gregory A. Righter (July 2000). Leaves Daughter and Son-in-law Gail R. and Emory G. Fuller of Sterling, Va, Three grandchildren, Kevin S. Fuller and wife Marka J.of Simpsonville, SC; Kathy F. Thurston and husband Phillip of Mt. Airy, MD; Keith B. Fuller of Buffalo, NY; Also leaves 5 great-grandchildren: Emily E. Fuller, Evan G. Schmidt, Ryan P. Schmidt, Carter D. Schmidt, and Jason D. Thurston. As well as many other family members and friends.

Quite the world traveler, having seen many countries including: Russia, China, Japan, United Kingdom, Egypt, Spain, France, Netherlands, Thailand, Italy, traveled the Amazon River in Brazil, the Nile River, safari in Africa and many other exciting adventures.

Lived in Washington, D.C. from 1939-1944 until moving to Cheverly, MD where she lived until August 2011, at which time she moved to Sommerset Retirement Community in Sterling, VA until her death where she enjoyed the company of many new friends.

Has been an active member of the Cheverly United Methodist Church since 1944 having seen her daughter married there in 1963.
