On Monday April 25th 2016, Vedastus Ramadhani Mabula Mganga departed this life. Vedastus was born on March 23, 1947, on the island of Ukerewe in Lake Victoria, Tanzania. He migrated to the United States in 1965 after completing his education in Tanzania. Vedastus continued his education at Strayer University and earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He joined the Children's Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. February1969 and retired after 46 years of service in March of 2015. Vedastus leaves behind his wife, Yvonne; three children, Gabaseki, Mtesigwa, Nabina; grandchildren, Emarni, Khaloni, Breyanna, Theresa, Aliya; great grandson, Christian in the USA; sisters, Taabu, Namwangwa, Stella Balibonaki; brothers, Gabriel and Verediana in the city if Mwanza, Tanzania and a host of beloved relatives and friends.
Funeral arrangements are as follows:
Viewing will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 at Gasch's Funeral Home, P.A., 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD 20781 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm.
Funeral (closed casket) will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at St. Bernard Catholic Church at 5700 St. Bernard Drive, Riverdale, MD 20737 from 9:30 - 11:00 am.
Burial will follow funeral service on May 14, 2016 at the George Washington Cemetery at 9500 Riggs Road, Adelphi, MD 20783.
Repast will follow funeral on May 14, 2016 at the Elks Lodge at 6700 Kenilworth Avenue, Riverdale, MD 20737.
