**Obituary**
Wallace Compton Boodhoo, known affectionately as Uncle Buddy, Boodhoo, Wally, Dad, and Grandpa, passed away on July 7, 2024, in Riverdale, MD. He was born in "Guyana" on November 10, 1930. Wallace had a diverse career, working as a conductor, cabbie, hire car driver and even spending a short time in the boxing ring as a professional boxer. Out of six fights he won two despite never having a trainer. However, his true passion lay in creating memories through his famous pepper pot dish during Christmas.
Wallace was a man of many talents and interests. He attended Peter’s Hall Primary School. Wallace's kindness and welcoming nature endeared him to all who knew him. He never hesitated to open his home to those in need and had a remarkable sense of humor that would lighten up any room.
One of Wallace's proudest accomplishments was the family he created. He not only cared for his immediate family but also cooked food for orphaned children at the Joshua House Children Centre, embodying his selfless and compassionate spirit. Later in life, he enjoyed long walks with his beloved dogs and grandchildren during retirement.
In his circle of deceased family and friends, Wallace leaves behind memories of the late Catherine George aka Mama Pearl (mother), the late Stanley Boodhoo aka Papa Stanley (father), Daphne King (sister) and Herma Boodhoo aka Tiny (wife). Among the surviving family and friends who will cherish his memory are his Jean Hussain (sister), sons Burt Boodhoo and partner Mary Ann Leria, Derrick Boodhoo and partner Renee Boodhoo, Terence Boodhoo and partner Mohammad Ali Nur Hamza Boodhoo, Orrin (Troy) Boodhoo and partner Robin Boodhoo, Johnny Boodhoo and partner Parbattie Boodhoo aka Gita, Michael Brown (stepson) and partner Robin Brown, as well as 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 2 great godchildren.
Wallace will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his generosity, loving spirit, and the lasting impact he made on all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace knowing that his legacy lives on through the love he shared with all.
