Julian "Wes" Western Williams of Clarksville, MD, passed away peacefully on April 14, 2022, at his home at the age of 83.​ ​ Born on May 27, 1938, in Washington, DC, he was the son of James and Marion Williams.​ ​ Wes was a Master Electrician for 50 years with the Local 26.  Faith was an essential part of his life.  A devout child of the Lord, Wes was passionate about sharing the love and warmth of our savior, Jesus Christ, with his children and as many people as possible.  Now that Wes has passed into the arms of our Lord, we should remind ourselves that while this is the end of Wes’ physical life on Earth, it’s the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for Wes.  He also enjoyed playing guitar and singing hymns, and in his early years, singing in the church choir.  Family was the center of Wes’ life, and he leaves behind a rapidly growing and devoted family. He is survived by his wife, Doris, daughters Cheryl Boykin of Turkey, NC and Julie Brown of Pink Hill, NC; stepdaughters, Debra Pritchard Jones of Brunswick, MD; Beverly Youhouse of Hyattsville, MD, Bonnie Breeden of New Windsor, MD, Barbara Kinchen and Deborah Freaner, both of Laurel, MD.  He was the proud grandfather of twenty-two (22) grandchildren, twenty-four (24) great-grandchildren and (2) great great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Williams and Marion Williams Rithman, stepfather, Joseph Rithman, former spouse, Annie Williams, his sister Joan Anderson, and his stepson, Robert Freaner.​ ​ A memorial service will be held at Gasch’s Funeral Home, 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, MD, 20781, on Thursday, April 21 at 11 a.m., followed by an internment at the George Washington Memorial Cemetery, 9500 Riggs Road, Adelphi, MD 20783.

James Wilson Montgomery, more affectionately known as “Red” or “Reds,” passed away on March 21, 2022 after a short illness, two months after his 97th birthday. He was a Master Electrician, avid bowler, sports fanatic, horseshoe thrower, card player, dog lover, party organizer, and above all else, a loving husband, father, friend, and family patriarch. Born in January of 1925, he was the son of first-generation immigrants. He moved from Malden, Massachusetts, to Washington, D.C. when he was 10. He served in the U.S. Army during the Second World War as a Military Policeman and as an electrician. After the War, he met his wife, Elaine, settling in Glassmanor, Maryland, moving to New Carrolton, Maryland in 1959, and then to their Mitchellville, Maryland home in 1972. In the 1980’s, he received his master electrician’s license for Maryland and the District of Columbia, and continued to operate his electrical business until his death. He was an active member of the New Carrolton Men’s Club, Elks Lodge 1778, and American Legion Post 136.  For his exemplary service to the community, he was named New Carrolton Man of the year in 1969. He was preceded in death by his father, James Montgomery; mother; Marian Crowder Montgomery; his siblings, Margaret Donovan, Philip Montgomery, Marian Montgomery, and Martha Baker; and by his loving wife of 64 years, Elaine Cavanaugh Montgomery. He is survived by his children: Nancy Davis (Charles), James Montgomery (Joan), and Elaine Smart (John); five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at Gasch’s Funeral Home, 4739 Baltimore Avenue, Hyattsville, Maryland, from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.
