Patricia King Gill passed away in Delray Beach, FL on November 18, 2019.  She was 95 years old.  Patricia was born on March 10, 1924 in Washington, DC to parents Maurice and Viola King.  She grew up in Washington, DC and attended Roosevelt High School.  Patricia enlisted in the WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service, a division of the U.S. Navy, to free up male personnel for sea duty) during World War ll.  She was always very proud to have served our country during this time in history and worked in the Chaplain’s office in Atlantic City, NJ.  She was honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class in 1946. Patricia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton T. Gill, sisters June and Margaret, and brother Clarence.  She is survived by her children Randall (Ann) and Dolores Erickson (Eric); her grandchildren Eric, Alex, Patience and Laura; and great-grandchildren Elizabeth, Kate, Anna, Kirsten, Lily, Paradise and Archer. Patricia was a woman of faith and was a member of Wallace Presbyterian Church for over 80 years.  In her younger years she sang in the choir, helped with Vacation Bible School, and served in the church nursery for fourteen years. Patricia worked for the Prince George’s County Library System for over 30 years and retired as Librarian for the College Park Library.  Patricia treasured her family and friends and made us laugh.  She was loving, generous, and known for bringing family and friends together to enjoy life.  She loved baking, sewing, traveling, visiting the Washington Zoo, Smithsonian Museums, seeing the cherry blossoms in the springtime, the art of Peter Max, china painting, family genealogy, Swing’s Coffee, Velatis caramels, concerts, parades, her Scottish heritage, books, fountain pens, and she adored her cats. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 7 at 2:00 PM at Wallace Presbyterian Church, 3725 Metzerott Rd, College Park, MD. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Wallace Presbyterian Church.

Irene Elizabeth Dennis Pruszenski became an angel in heaven on November 1, 2019. She was an exceptional mother who devoted her life to her beloved children: Anthony "Tony" Stanley Pruszenski, Jr., Keat Dennis Pruszenski, Dana Niles Pruszenski, Sherman Dean Pruszenski, Malea Anne (Erik) Maynard, and Amy Dee (Andrew Allen) Pruszenski. "Grandma" adored her grandchildren, Dana Anne Maynard and Alexander "Sasha" Keat Maynard, who, with their mother, provided daily loving care for her in the last year and a half of her life at CC Young nursing home in Dallas Texas. "Renie" was a 51 year resident of Adelphi, Maryland, after having moved up and down the east coast of the United States as a dedicated Navy wife to Anthony Stanley Pruszenski, Sr., who predeceased her on February 2, 2000. She was born to John  and Anna (Ballinger) Dennis in Clayton, NJ and was tempered by growing up during the depression on a dairy farm. She was an inspiration, especially to her daughters, as a trail-blazer who found a way to attend nursing school at Hahneman University Hospital in Philadelphia, PA in an era when many women were not pursuing careers. She served as a nurse from 1940-1949. With a deep desire to have a family, she gave up her career to raise her family when she met and fell in love with "Ski", and married him on New Year's Day 1950, at the age of 28. She loved dogs and cats, especially enjoying her porch kitty "PK", and visiting foster cats smuggled into the nursing home by her grandchildren. During her long life, Renie was a skilled seamstress, cook, baker, bridge player, scrabble player, dancer, pianist, swimmer and tennis player. She was an avid  reader, and switched to audiobooks when her vision failed. She was a Christian who trusted the Lord and was known to advise her children to "pray about it" when life's challenges arose. She was undefeatable, a strong woman, who lived her life with conviction setting a stellar example for her children, and all others. She was "Mom" to the end, waiting for her youngest daughter to return safely from her honeymoon before her peaceful departure from this world. She will be dearly missed.
